Modern Cabin in Nature – A Fusion of Wood, Light, and Comfort
The architectural study presents the design of a modern cabin with a garage, situated in the picturesque setting of Lietavská Svinná – Babkov. The cabin is located on gently sloping terrain near a forest, creating a unique atmosphere of harmony with nature.
The two-story structure, partially embedded in the ground, combines a reinforced concrete basement with a lightweight wooden frame construction on the main residential floor. The L-shaped layout ensures a logical separation of the daytime and nighttime zones. Each bedroom features a loft space, as does the living room with a kitchen, creating an open and attractive interior.
The basement includes a wellness area with a sauna and relaxation zone. Thanks to the terraced landscape, direct access to the outdoors is possible from all living spaces. The dynamic appearance of the building is enhanced by a hip roof without overhangs, covered with metal sheeting, and an elegant ventilated wooden façade in the traditional shou sugi ban style.
This project seamlessly blends natural materials, modern design, and comfortable living while emphasizing privacy and functionality.
