The client's assignment was to create a timeless, flexible, and fresh coworking space located on a separate floor of a beautiful villa from the 1920s. The locals of Žilina know this place as Villa Magnolia, named after the magnificent tree in its front garden. The space includes an office, a shared kitchen, a meeting room, and a recording studio. The main feature of the central area is a reconstructed concrete beam ceiling and the central accent of a "tree of life" light fixture, determining a certain technological mystique. The nearly First Republic-era design is reflected in a preserved piece of black-and-white cubist tile at the entrance and the selection of square tiles in the restrooms and kitchen. Although the space is still awaiting a few final pieces of furniture, it already offers an atmosphere conducive to various activities and work.
