The house is located in Žilina, suburban part of Bytčica, Žilina district. There is an existing family house on the northern part of the property, which has one raised above-ground floor, a partially sunken underground floor and an accessible attic with a hipped roof.
The original building, which is largely preserved, is complemented by an extension made of CLT panels. These two masses are connected by the mass of the entrance and the carport. The original staircase, as well as the hipped roof, which no longer meets the technical requirements, have been renovated. It was replaced by a green flat roof with a sloping attic, on which photovoltaic panels will be placed.
The entrance to the existing underground floor is designed from the exterior and is covered with a carport. There is a technical room, a common room and a warehouse.
The layout of the existing upper floor has been changed to two children's rooms, a bathroom and a study. The entrance to this part of the house has been moved to the west side, where the extension is located, which deliberately creates a barrier from the noisy main road. By setting aside and turning the extension from the original building, a space for the entrance and a partially roofed terrace, which opens to the garden, is created.
The extension is divided into two functional units. A common room with a dining room and a kitchen facing the garden with a terrace and a bedroom with a wardrobe and a bathroom. The entrance space is complemented by an emergency toilet and a wardrobe.
On the facade, the original material of the family house, which is in white bricks, and the new material in white plaster are differentiated by material.
The proposed object is designed in energy class A0.
