A residential house in Žilina – Trnové in a passive standard before construction. A large house on a relatively narrow plot, with good orientation to the cardinal directions. The dominant feature of the interior is a two-storey living room area with a gallery and a study on the "captain's bridge". The heating area is 160 m2, the annual specific heat demand is assumed to be 16 kWh/(m2/a). The foundation of the house is on a heated reinforced concrete slab on insulating XPS boards, load-bearing walls are made of sand-lime bricks.

Contact insulation system ETICS and cladding made of fibre cement boards, roof structure made of wooden beams and blown cellulose insulation, and extensive greenery on the roof. The wood-aluminium windows, with an overall heat transfer coefficient of 0.64 (W/m2K), are designed to maximise the solar gain from the sunny cardinal directions. The house is designed without thermal bridges, as airtight with mechanical ventilation through a heat recovery ventilator, recovering heat from the interior. The ideal house form factor A/V is again deliberately suppressed in favour of the attractiveness of the house architecture.
