The planned location of the new apartment house is the site of the renovated Guesthouse Slavkovsky, in Starý Smokovec municipality.
The building is designed as an apartment house with 22 apartments in two size categories. Of course, it is possible to combine the apartments into larger areas. According to the Master Plan Information, the permissible number of floors is 3 + 1. The basement includes an underground parking lot with 22 comfortable parking spaces. Other parking areas are on the ground.
By the modular arrangement of the apartments, we have achieved an equal view from all terraces and bedrooms to the panorama of the Tatra Mountains. The orientation of the building is perpendicular to the Peak Slavkovský along the long axis of the building. The compact mass is playfully broken into a set of visually smaller scales, which is one of the conditions of the Master Plan information. The vertical playfulness is accentuated by the repetitiveness of the pitched roofs, creating a kind of design transcription of the panorama of the Tatra peaks.
The building is designed as a brick building with an external ventilated façade of composite panels and wooden prismatic elements. The design seeks to apply typical Tatra elements of the lattice architecture in the form of a kind of wooden grid on the façade and its representative regularity, softness and timelessness. The loggias can be complemented by a system of exterior roller shutters or blinds. The colour scheme of the composite panel façade is petrol green. The surroundings of the apartment house include free park landscaping, a children's playground and a meeting area for the residents of the house.
